If i collect sand from a aquarium with triops eggs in it?

then if i dry the sand and then add it to pure water, can i hatch the triops successfully without detritus?
i would think so since the sand should contain micro organisms and algae from the water which it was previously in, i just want to make sure it would work without having to have a bad experience, or will i have to just find out for my self? Thank you.

Fish babies?? what do I do?

I am breeding Triops to put in my 10 gallon aquarium BUT it seems like i woke up for a little suprise this morning…

The Anacharis plant I purchased from a pet store must have had fish eggs somewhere on it, because i see two little tiny fish babies (or at least im pretty sure they are) they have black eyes, clear bodies and long tails, they look alot like tadpoles but verrrry small

I cant put my triops in the tank or they will eat the baby fish.

Im thinking i can give them back to the petstore once the babies are old enough, or give them to a friend with an aquarium.

BUT how long would it be until the fish babies begin to look like an identifiable fish?

where can i get black aquarium sand?

I need black aquarium sand for freshwater aquariums! They cant have any salt or whatever in them because that will not go well with my triops longicaudatus.

Where can i find some? ive been to several pet stores and none carried black aquarium sand!

(i need it black because when the triops lay their eggs theyll be easier for me to see and harvest)

Plants for freshwater aquarium?

I was thinking about adding some plants to my 10 gallon aquarium, primarily just to make it look nicer, and also for my Triops generations to feed on if they ever need to.

any good suggestions freshwater plants? How can i plant them in sand and keep them alive?

Will adding plants to my tank increase the water clarity, or make it dirtier?

thankyou!

Aquarium heater for a 10 gallon tank?

hi, i am new to setting up aquariums and for my first aquarium i was going to raise Triops.

since it is winter here where i live, my room can get down to 60 degrees F, which is unsuitable for triops as they need about 70-80F.

i found the 50 WATT VISI-THERM STEALTH SUBMERSIBLE HEATER which i guess is good for my 10 gallon tank.

can i just stick it in the water, on the side of the tank? or do i need to do something different?

Im just kinda frightened that my little triops will swim too close to the heater and get fried! hahaha

thankyou!
