I have a 5 gal. fish tank I keep triops in. I recently changed from rocks to sand since they like to dig. I used some construction grade sand that I sifted and cleaned before using. Seems to be fine and the triops like it. Anyway, this morning I was looking in the tank and saw a little red worm come about half way out of the sand and snag something (food?), then it went back into the sand. I stirred the sand up where I saw it to see if I could see it again, but no luck.
Anyone know what it is?
I just got my Triops eggs yesterday. The eggs are staying to the side of the tank around the edges, even though I keep moving them! I read not to let them do that. Is there any way to get them to stop? or should I let them be?

It’s a well-planted, freshwater tank with peaceful/community fish(plecos). would the triops try to eat my fish or anything, or the other way around??
or basically, would they be able to survive in these conditions at all??
also, is there anywhere i can go to just buy the eggs? i don’t wanna spend $30 on a little kids kit thing from the store…

To have my Triops be born, what kind of water should I use? And should I change it with a different. I heard somewhere to start out with distilled water and make my way over to spring water? Is this true? What should I do ?
