Are Triops eggs sensitive to calcium, bicarbonate ions, or simply osmotic pressure?

Triops (tadpole/shield shrimp) eggs will not hatch in tap water that has been dechlorinated and treated to remove heavy metals. Is it because the eggs are sensitive to calcium or bicarbonate ions? Or are the eggs simply sensitive to a certain threshold of osmotic pressure?
