Help With Triops(little sea creatures)?

Um, so i bought these triops for my son. The instruction manual says they need spring water to survive. We dont have any bottled water right now and my son is very excited to get these eggs in. Could I boil water and then use that? Or will that kill the Triops? Help would be nice.

  1. Spring water is needed because it contains the minerals that Triops need to survive. Boiled water might still contain some chlorine/chloramines which might kill the Triop eggs.

  2. Sure, go ahead. Use the boiled water. Im not sure if it would work or not, but if they dont hatch and they all die… Well, that would be a good time to teach him patience.

If you have fish tanks, and have used your water straight from the tap before, you can use the same water for these guys. Most tap water contains chlorine and other harmful chemicals. But not all water. If you live in town, youll most likely have these chemicals. I live out in the country and our water comes from an underground stream. I use this water for my fish and any other aquatic creature.

If you dont have any chemicals in the water, it will be fine. Otherwise, it will kill anything in there. But remember, sometimes, patience is key. He cant always have what he wants right now.
