It’s my brother’s birthday is in less then a month, and I said I’d get him triops and a new fish tank! Well, I’m on a bit of a budget but want to get a glass fish tank but i’m stuck about where to get one! PLEASE help!!!
BTW, I’m in England. In the South East! HELP
There are tons of fish tanks in pet stores… everywhere, and if you live in a city or a town, then you for sure have one. If not, then you can look on Ebay, and Craigslist. If you are on a budget, depending on the quality of the tank, filter, and all of that, a 10 gallon aquarium would cost at least $150. Just go to the pet store, and ask.

Try a local newspaper classifieds or check online for people selling tanks.

Try ebay, gumtree, pets at home and other local aquatics stores (where in the south east are you? Look up maidenhead aquatics and see if there’s a branch near you)
To the US people – Craigslist isn’t used much in the UK, its pretty much empty and useless.

The biggest problem with a glass tank is transporting it home. Brand new and you are paying over the odds.
100 litre tank full set up goes for around £50 second hand, you would be lucky to get a 30 litre brand new at that price.
Do you need to go for glass if it’s only going to hold Triops? If you give him a glass tank, how long before he wants to put fish in it?
Definitely look for a second hand deal in your local paper or corner shop windows. Aquariums are a hobby that you only know you like after you get started. A lot of people try it out and then loss interest. Look at it two ways, you could be wasting your money and it’s better to take advantage of somebody elses change of heart than buy new.
